Maria Lintott in the Studio

I create collections that use the expressive potential of tableware, that are not only functional, but also engage the user on an emotional and sensory level. Using playful forms and texture I actively encourage interaction with my products. They are designed to bring a touch of beauty to our everyday lives.

All my collections are handmade by me in fine bone china in my Hertfordshire studio, and bear the Maria Lintott mark.

I find inspiration in a variety of places, my ranges often reference traditional ceramics and the natural world. I like my pieces to create curiosity and have a sense of fun, I want them to summon people to pick them up and to enjoy the tactile experience. I love the idea that objects have stories to tell and that narratives can be formed through a lifetime of use.  An object such as a teacup can become as comforting as an old friend.
